Lot of irons in the fire right now with projects and work is really starting to pick back up, but it stay s light late so I have that going for me. A little while ago I !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but provided little detail because puppy!

I bought one of those plastic molded sheds (which are pretty damned legit for the little money they cost.) My wife built the foundation box for me then I came in and leveled it out on bricks, covered with plywood, and built that shed (super easy). This shed is at the very back of our yard, about 400 feet from the house and I want power down there. I’m planning for interior and exterior lighting as well as a 2 000 watt inverter for tools etc... after all that were going to stick a ride on mower in there but I have not yet decided on that. I still have to build a ramp and finish off the sides (and playset area) with 4x4s.

That didn’t stop me from organizing though...

I bought !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! starter kit (one panel and charge controller) along with 2 deep cycle batteries and a second panel. I also bought !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! inverter. Going with LV LEDs for inside the shed, but will run romex for the floodlights for outside. This is my first dip into an off grid solar setup, so I will have to see how power different things use power and probably add more panels, possibly more batteries.

Panels are going on the roof (or on a separate mount that I build). Batteries will go behind the shed in a “water resistant” box. Controller and inverter inside, per my really detailed diagram below.

The panels might arrive before the weekend!!!

I know some of you may be thinking why TF is this guy so excited about this rinky dinky shed? Well, this is my first “real” storage structure. I know it’s not a garage, but it’s a lawn mower garage...

I thought of doing something similar when I put my shed up, using an old motorcycle battery, a solar maintainer, and some LED strip lights. Never got around to finishing it though and honestly haven’t really ever needed the light. I like your plan though!

I really like this. It looks good. I wish I had a place for one in my back yard.

Full disclosure , wiring up lights for places that are “neat” but seldom used is one of my specialties!

I have that same shed, and mower. I bought one of them solar floods on Amazon and screwed it to the outside, and it is perfect. Real bright, and the light reflects enough to where I can see inside the shed too.

That’s a cool idea for power . I have a prefab shed too. I went that route because I’m hoping to someday build a 3rd garage stall where the shed is. I didn’t bother with a proper base, but in hindsight I should have. Oh well.

I almost didn’t go for a base as that is a concrete pad beneath it. However we do get a little water back there when it rains a lot, so I figured I might as well. Also, My wife is so quick at building those boxes after her garden beds.

That’s ironic - we just finished the exact same project last week! Same she d brand and all lol

The concrete tiles are just laid out for measuring purposes...the next step is to level that area nicely.
